BIOGRAPHY

“If you want to be GREAT; there’s one Rule; don’t do what everyone else does"

Paul Botha lives and studies in Rustenburg. His strong personality, determination and the big passion for sports brought him to the podium at a very young age, with a bronze medal (36.74 m) at the SASA National Primary School Track & Field Championships 2010.

A year later in 2011 he improved his PB getting the gold medal at the SASA National Primary School Track & Field Championships with a distance of 43.88 m.

During the same year he won another gold medal with 51.27 m at the ASA SA National Track & Field Youth Championships.

He has been constantly improving till the 2015 when he put a mark on the international stage obtaining the qualification for the Worlds winning another gold with 73.15 m.

“If your Dreams don’t scare you, they’re not big enough”

At the CAA African Youth Championships in Mauritius he took the silver with a distance of 71.48 m breaking the previous championships record.

The glory came a couple of months later with a near four-metre improvement on his lifetime best, winning the gold medal at the IAAF World Youth Championships 2015 in Cali, with a distance of 78.49 m.
