Simbine on the podium in Hengelo

on Sunday 24th of May at the Fanny Blankers-Koen meeting in Hengelo, Akani Simbine finished second clocking 10.12s in the 100m, running into a 0.3m/s headwind.

Victor Hogan grabbed fifth position with 62.21m, behind the Olympic and World Champ silver medallist Piotr Malachowski.

Orazio Cremona was also fifth in the men’s shot put, launching a 19.20m in the penultimate round.

Long jump Ruswahl Samaai withdrew from his specialist event.



Rocco Van Rooyen top 5 javelin thrower in SA

On Saturday 23th of May 2015 at the Athletics SA Invitation meeting in Cape Town, Rocco Van Rooyen launched a massive personal best smashing his record with a superb 85.39 m. This result puts him into the top-five on the South African all-time men’s javelin rankings and it is also three metros further than the qualifying standard for the IAAF World Championships in Beijing in August.
